First, Philippines sent their representative to Miss
Universe in the person of Miriam Quiambao to Venezuela in 1999 to have her be
trained by the famous Osmel Souza who have earned the reputation for having a
Midas hand by turning ordinary Venezuelan ladies into doll-like uber gorgeous
candidates; and, she ended 1st runner up.
Second, Dominican Republic, in 2003, sent Amelia Vega for
training also in Venezuela and she ended up winning as Miss Universe 2003.
Now, it is Ecuador’s turn to send Constanza Baez who will be
competing in Moscow, Russia comes November for the Miss Universe 2013 title. Will
she have the same fate as experienced by the beauty queens from the Philippines
and Dominican Republic?
After sending a quality candidate last year who was touted
by pageant pundits and netizen as a front-runner but failed to advance, Ecuador
is stepping up its game plan to start building its reputation as one of the
powerhouses of beauties in South America.
Will Constanza Baez be able to achieve what Carolina Aguirre failed
to do last year?
You decide whether she has transformed worthy for a spot in
the finals of Miss Universe 2013. Recent
pictures of Constanza’s transformation are doing the rounds on beauty pageant
websites and blogs around the world-wide-web. Below are pictures of her right
after her crowning as the national winner and during her hair and make-up
sessions done by the Venezuelans for comparison.
But let me just remind everyone that not everybody who were
sent for training in Venezuela were able to shine in their respective pageants.
The beautiful Lalaine Edson of the Philippines
knows this better when she didn’t place at Miss World 1999 despite
having an week-long training by Osmel himself.
Let just cross our fingers that this effort by the
Ecuadorian beauty queen will pays off.
