Miss Philippines Universe 2009 Pamela Bianca Manalo's official evening gown is now out in the internet. It was shared to us by certain Gerardito Jr for Missosology.
While the long gown is definitely far better than the gowns worn by the previous Misses Philippines Universe, I still feel there is missing on it. I guess it does not emphasize the long legs Bianca has. Or is it because she has also a longer torso? Or the slit of the gown is a little bit lower? Or the gown should be a little longer? I don't know since I am not good in designing gowns. Maybe you can help me figure it out.
But we have to commend the effort of Binibining Pilipinas and Alfredo Barraza, who this time, listened a little to the clamour of many Filipino pageant lovers of having a decent dresses for Miss Philippines. Though it is not yet maximized, the effort is there and why only now?
In these pictures of Bianca, I can say she is kinda prepared for the pageant. I also can see three past Miss Philippines Universe in her. She has the Geraldine Asis (Miss Universe 1987 semi-finalist) vibe. She has the poise of Miriam Quiambao (Miss universe 1999 first runner-up) and the vibrancy of Maricar Balagtas, Miss Philippines Universe 2004.
Pamela poses like Miriam with her long arms. She is trying to make her shoulder broader to highlight the curves of her body. Nice work Pamela and hope you will improve more.
By the way, is she arriving in Bahamas with this cool summer outfit?

next time, i suggest that we get our pageant representative's measurements and make our own designs. each designer must be able to make sure that the design is relevant and up-to-date. let's show it to the organizers or to thecandidates and let them choose from our design.

ReplyDeleteI really hope next time they would focus on more elegant colors like black, white, metallic, pearl white...etc...and less fancy stuff on the dress. I think its better if they focus on the cut and fabric, enhancing the bearer's shape and form.Hope they would avoid flashy colors like this one. I reckon, it was her elegance that helped miriam win (almost)....just my opinion...Good Luck to her though...looks like she has good chances

ReplyDeleteThat gown still looks ugly on her. And it has poor fitting making her look fat, stupid and a whore. I don't like her in straight hair as well. It should be curly. And her tanned skin looks ugly on that pale blue gown. Like I said many times whiter skin looks great with any color. So she should use POND's flawless white because it reduces dark spots and blemishes and lightens skin in just 7 days! If she uses it she will have a rosy white skin that will be appealing to the judges eyes and beauty pageant wankers. Who knows Donald Trump might even propose on her...
And please Bianca don't pose like a whore. Pose with confidence without looking like a whore. Pose ka nalang na parang innocente and regal. That's the look look for your face.
Also Stella madami ka namang alahas mayaman naman yang mga Aranet please pahiram mo din siya ng glamorous set ng rosy white South Sea pearls set with diamonds para lang mag mukha siyang asian royalty at ma intimidate ang mga jaudge na bigyan siya ng mababang scores sa prelim at finale.
Hurry! time is running out! If she wins Miss Universe yayaman kapang lalo pati na rin ang BPCI dadami ang sponsors at tataas ang advertisers rate. Magpayaman pa kayo mga Araneta simply by making her win.

Humingi kayo ng opinion sa pinaka sikat na fashion designer sa bansa wag si Pitoy at ipasuot ang pinaka bonngang gown sa kanya na bagay din sa skintone ant body shape niya ok!?

ReplyDeletethe gown is so, so...realy it doesn't suit her personality. she has way more taste and class than that gown, i'm sorry. in the past miss universe, the philippine candidates are known to wear the best and the most elegant gowns ( from gloria, to margie, to armi barabara crespo, chat silayan, desiree,chiqui brosas to miriam). but now, ever since stella araneta hired the colombian designer, the gowns just look sad and cheap. there are so many talented local designers in the philippines , why hire an outsider? that's really dumb on ms. araneta's part.
ReplyDeleteshe would look better, if that blue ribbon in the gown is omitted, it would emphasize her chest, and the hazy color blue of that skirt must also be modified to emphasize her beautiful legs, if that so, it will look like the gown that was worn by Carlene Aguilar(Bb. Pilipinas World 2005), I believe that, those gowns that our delegates would wear must be designed by our Filipino designers, and not foreign ones. remember Pitoy moreno was awarded at the Bb. Pilipinas 2009, I thought he was the one who would design the gowns of our dear delegates. well the bottom line is its not the gown that matters, its just how she carries it and work for her to standout.. I remember my idol Ms. Miriam Quiambao(1st runner up, Ms. Universe 1999) her gown was not one of the best, but it looked very stunning and elegant when she carried it and worked on that stage in Trinidad. she has stunned all because of her elegance and awesome poise. goodluck bianca..!!!! ReplyDeleteI just watched the Miss Universe Preliminaries. She was so beautiful! She made Philippines--at least this Filipina (me)--proud. She stood out from the rest. I hope they keep her hair straight and black for the real pageant. The dress is okay. Normally, I wouldn't favour a gown this colour for a pageant, but most of the really nice gowns this year are silver. I like that Philippines' gown is blue. It gives that island feel, but it still looks elegant. I'm truly hoping Ms. Manalo takes home the crown and bring Philippines back on the map! Mabuhay Pilipinas!

ReplyDeletethe gown is not that good compare to other candidates.. my main concern is the national costume. we were just stocked on this filipiniana thing. knowing that Filipino has a lot of varieties when it comes to costume.. look at japan and china they give their national costumes some twist. why not try to get some inspiration to the famous festivals in the philippines. like sinulog, mascara, or pilipino muslim costumes. im sure it will work out.
