I have learned from a friend that Binibining Pilipinas 2010 front-runners Krista Arrieta Kleiner (Candidate No. 11) and Maria Venus Raj (Candidate No. 10) were the winners of special awards during the preliminary competitions yesterday. Kleiner got the Best in Talent while Raj got the Best in Regional Terno Award.
This pre-pageant show was taped yesterday (February 26) and will be broadcast by GMA Channel 7 on Sunday, February 28. The ladies were judged on their swimsuits and evening gowns. The Top 10 in both segments will make the semi-finals of the Binibining Pilipinas 2010. It will be announced on the coronation night on 6 March 2010.
Raj and Kleiner, along with Gwendoline Ruais (Candidate No. 13), are the most popular of all the 24 official contestants. Most pageant fans are expecting the three ladies to take the 3 titles at stake - the Binibining Pilipinas - International 2010, Binibining Pilipinas - World 2010 and Binibining Pilipinas - Universe 2010.
The three said contenders are the most prepared girls in this batch. If we have to believe comments from fans, they have the best catwalk skills and most toned bodies. Surprisingly, all three are mixed. Raj is Filipino-Indian. Kleiner is Filipino-American while Ruais is Filipino-French.
According to a friend who watched the taping of the preliminary competition, Rose Ann Aguilar (Candidate 17), who is a cousin of Carlene Aguilar, Miss Philippines-World 2005, Miss World 2005 semi-finalist and Miss Earth 2001 semi-finalist, was the total surprise of the night. She gave a good fight and very beautiful in person.
We'll watch out for that.
