Beauty queen Raelene Aguilar, who wore the Miss New Mexico USA tiara last year, was pulled over in Texas on Thursday for driving drunk.El Paso police arrested Aguilar, 26, in the wee hours of the morning after failing a field sobriety test. She spent the next few hours getting booked, judged and bonded (for $600).
TMZ spoke with the president of the Miss Universe Organization Paula Shugart: "She has our deepest sympathies and we're hoping she can make it through this difficult time. She's a good person."
Aguilar competed but did not place high enough to rank in the Miss USA pageant, held last April. She was Miss Teen New Mexico USA in 2000.
What a shame! Texas DWI penalties can be quite harsh. Raelene could find herself facing jail time of up to 6 months and fines of up to $2000! That's assuming, of course, that Miss New Mexico is a first time offender.
