Former Miss USA contestants to strut their stuff at Hawaiian Tropic Zone

Hawaiian Tropic Zone inside the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino will rock Las Vegas Boulevard tomorrow night (April 18) with a night of fashion and fun featuring more than 30 former Miss USA contestants at the second annual Fashion Rocks the Universe.

Beginning at 10:30 p.m., Shanna Moakler (Miss USA 1995), Dayana Mendoza (Miss Universe 2008), Stevi Perry (Miss Teen USA 2008), Maria Sten-Knudsen (Miss Denmark Universe 2008), Brook Lee (Miss Universe 1997 and Miss USA 1997), Justine Pasek (Miss Universe 2002), Chelsea Cooley (Miss USA 2005), Allie LaForce (Miss Teen USA 2005), Veronica Grabowski (Miss Nevada USA 2008), Michelle Berthelot (Miss Louisiana USA 2008), Kaetlin Parent (Miss Maine USA 2008), Jonelle Layfield (Miss Hawaii USA 2008), Jacque Honulik (Miss Connecticut USA 2008), Michelle Font (Miss Washington USA 2008), Chelsea Rodgers (Miss District of Columbia USA 2008), Leah Laviano (Miss Mississippi USA 2008), Tiffany Andrade (Miss New Jersey USA 2008), Lindsey Jo Harrington (Miss Oklahoma USA 2008), LauRen Merola (Miss Pennsylvania USA 2008), Courtney Erin Carroll (Miss Alaska USA 2008), Keisha Walding (Miss Alabama USA 2008), Rachel Howells (Miss Arkansas USA 2008), Kimberly Joiner (Miss Arizona USA 2008), Amy Diaz (Miss Rhode Island USA 2008), Brittany Mason (Miss Indiana USA 2008), Breanne Silvi (Miss New Hampshire USA 2008), Micaela Johnson (Miss Nebraska USA 2008), Alysha Harris (Miss Kentucky USA 2008), Raelene Aguilar (Miss New Mexico USA 2008), Raquel Beezley (Miss California USA 2008), Lauren Hudman (Miss Nevada Teen USA 2008), Shareece Pfeiffer (Miss Idaho Teen USA 2008), Meagan Tandy (Miss California USA 2007) and more will strut their stuff on Hawiian Tropic Zone's catwalk in a fashion show featuring the hottest items from Sherri Hill Gowns, Crowning Touch bikinis and Miracle Mile Shops’ Vegas Royalty. Local dance crew and opening act for MTV’s “America’s Best Dance Crew” tour Meccamee will also be on-site, performing several electrifying and beat-driven dance numbers as DJ Koko hits the decks and keeps the dance floor packed with an irresistible mix of hip-hop and Top 40 mashups. Following the fashion show, the former contests will be available to sign autographs and meet fans.

Fashion Rocks the Universe is part of a two-day extravaganza leading up to the 2009 Miss USA Pageant celebrating the past, the present and the future of the Miss Universe Organization. There is a $30 cover charge to attend the event; red carpet arrivals begin at 9:30 p.m.

Named one of Las Vegas’ Top 10 new restaurants by Citysearch, Hawaiian Tropic Zone boasts a sexy modern décor, alluring dining room, mouth-watering menu items, catwalk stage for nightly entertainment, the largest video wall in Las Vegas, cabaret dancers, full bar, water wall entrance, Strip-side patio and live DJ appearing nightly. Exotic and friendly Hawaiian Tropic models wearing costumes by Nicole Miller serve as “table concierges” to assist with guests’ every dining need as well as participate in nightly beauty pageants. HTZ is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. and serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and dinner from 5 p.m. midnight.
