Miss France Chloe Mortaud Leaves Miss World 2009

After coming back from a long vacation, a friend has told me that Miss France World 2009 (also Miss France Universe 2009 and a finalist in Miss Universe 2009 in Bahamas), Chloe Mortaud had left Miss World 2009 pageant that is currently taking place in South Africa. That is barely one week before the finals on December 12th.

But don't panic, Chloe fans! She did not withdraw from the competition (Well, if you read my statement in that way.) but she only temporarily left the pageant last night to crown the winner of Miss France 2010 which was won by Malika Menard from the region of Normandy.

This decision from Miss World organization headed by Julia Morley has proven one thing, as noted by a friend, that pre-pageant activities are not important. Do you share the same view?

Well, Chloe is one of the favorites to win the title of Miss World 2009 because of her experience and placement at the 58th Miss Universe edition in Bahamas last August. But she is facing stiff competitions from Perla Beltran of Mexico and Jennifer Colon of Puerto Rico.

Who knows Chloe might be one of those beauties who snatched a crown from crossing over from Miss Universe to Miss World?

UPDATED: Jennifer Colon is Miss Puerto Rico World 2009

We have heard that the new Miss Puerto Rico World for 2009 or Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico 2009 is Bayamon's Jennifer Colon Alvarado who is a student of architecture and the same time a professional model. She will be contesting the Miss World 2009 crown in Johannesburg, South Africa and in London on December 12.

The pageant was televised lived from Tapia Theater in Old San Juan with the participation of 24 contestants.

Twenty-one-year-old Jennifer is also the First Runner-up at the 2009 Miss Puerto Rico Universe which was won by Mayra Matos.

The first runner-up was Yara Lasanta from Barranquitas and Melissa Serrano from Vega Baja was second runner-up. Isabela's Amanda Diaz and Juncos' Libni Garcia finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Prior to the competition, several fast-track events were held to select the best contestant in sports, modeling, swimsuit, talent and charity.

The fast-track winners were Rebecca Fernandez, Culebra (Sports); Jennifer Colon, Bayamon (Model); Yara Lasanta, Barranquitas (Swimsuit); Mariselle Morales, Guaynabo (Talent); and Jennifer Ortiz, Orocovis (Charity).

In case you didn't know, the title of Miss Puerto Rico Universe was offered to the 1.75 meters tall Jennifer by Magali Febles, the franchise owner of the pageant, when she allegedly had a problem with Mayra's contract.

Jennifer is said to have declined the offer.

Jennifer is now being hyped as one of the front-runners for the Miss World crown along with Mexico's Karla Beltran and Philippines' Marie Ann Umali.

Mayra Matos, Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2009, Dethroned?

We have a big news coming from Rafa of Critical Beauty. Apparently, Miss Puerto Rico 2009 Mayra Matos has been dethroned by the pageant organizer, Magali Febles, who is also the director of Miss Dominican Republic Universe.

Sources are telling that Mayra Matos has been stripped of her title as Miss Puerto Rico Universe by national director Magali Febles. It appears that Mayra refused to sign a contract with a clause that says, "You must not have participated in an international pageant that you won."

Mayra was Miss Teen International 2006 and Magali knew about this. Magali offered the MPRU crown to Mayra's first runner-up, Jennifer Colon, who sources say has flatly rejected the offer and that she supports Mayra all the way. It appears, too, that the contract has been revised by Magali, since it's not the same one that Ingrid Rivera had signed when she was Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2008.

But the Puerto Rican newspaper, Primera Hora just published today that Mayra's dethronement is a purely rumour, that she denies her dethronement, and that she will compete in Miss Universe 2009 in Bahamas. The article also says that Mayra has never received any letter from Magali dethroning her.
