In the picture is the first Miss Bhutan ever to compete in an international pageant. This is another history for the Miss Earth contest which is gaining more popularity as years pass by. It is nice to see the lady is enjoying her competition and I just wish this photo I have borrowed from Inquirer.net showing Miss Bhutan in swimsuit will not make issues back in her country. Like Tibet and Nepal, Bhutan is a very conservative country and pageant like this is considered a taboo.

beauty paegents and swimsuits are soooo not taboo in bhutan...we are conservative, but that is only in our approach to modernisation and westernisation in terms of environmental conservation over industrial expansion...no mcdonalds...but please dont make our country sound so...well conservative...we come from a country where phalluses decorate our homes
