Miss Universe 2010 will come in your television either in May as it is done traditionally or in September if the rumor is true. But as early as now, 3 delegates who will be competing with each other from 3 Latin American countries have convened in one event in Venezuela. This gathering paved way a chance for the beauty pageant fans around the world to compare the delegates from Venezuela, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
Miss Universe 2009 1st runner-up, Ada Aimee de la Cruz, joined these 3 ladies.
Venezuela will be represented by Marelisa Gibson while Ximena Navarette and Mariana Vicente will be Mexico's and Puerto Rico's representatives respectively.
Now that these 3 ladies are standing side-by-side with each other, we are now opened for more points of comparison. Who do you think is the most beautiful of them all?
I pick Marelisa Gibson and Ximena Navarette of Venezuela and Mexico. I personally believe they are more queenly and poised in these pictures. Facially, these two ladies are also better than Miss Puerto Rico and even Ada of Dominican Republic.
Talking about Ada, why is she wearing her Miss Dominican Republic World crown when she is with Miss Universe contestants? I am referring at the first picture. Have you noticed that?

Miss Philippines Universe is now ready for Miss Universe 2009
Pamela Bianca Manalo and Stella Marquez-Araneta
Pamela Bianca Manalo, Miss Philippines Universe 2009, is ready for the Miss Universe 2009 pageant in Bahamas. I got this article from Manila Bulletin. It was written by Robert Requintina.
Pamela Bianca Manalo left Wednesday night for the Bahamas where she will compete in the 2009 Miss Universe Beauty Pageant on August 23.
At the send-off party at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Manalo, 22, said she is ready and challenged to bring the title once again to the Philippines.
“I believe that if you really want something, you have to give it your 101 percent,’’ said the former flight attendant, who stands 5’10’’.
In preparing for the pageant, Manalo said she took language courses, reviewed Philippine history, geography, economics, and arts and culture, and brushed up on her knowledge about the Bahamas.
The beauty queen has also undergone on-cam training, like hosting and angles, plus hair and make-up lessons since she will have to do her own hair and make-up during the Miss Universe pageant.
Manalo is a sister of Miss World semifinalist Katherine Manalo-Hernandez.
Their aunt is former Miss Philippines International Nini Ramos Licaros.
She has been taking part in humanitarian missions to uplift the plight of poor Filipinos, and improving the morale of the country’s wounded soldiers.
She also finds time to take part in community-based projects. “I am very thankful that my family has always been blessed but I’m also concerned about the plight of the poor families in our community.”
“Before I joined Bb. Pilipinas, I’ve always been happy to volunteer for Gawad Kalinga in building houses for the poor, joining medical missions and participating in our community’s feeding programs,’’ Manalo said.
When she competed in the 2009 Bb. Pilipinas pageant, Manalo also won special awards such as the Manila Bulletin Reader’s Choice Award, Miss Natasha, Miss Philippine Airlines, and Best in Swimsuit.
Prior to the competition, Manalo stood out in cheerleading during high school and college. She also dabbled in modeling when she was 14 and also tried her hand at TV hosting. During her safety training as a flight attendant, she graduated first honorable mention among 75 cabin crew members.
If she wins the Miss Universe pageant, Manalo will be the third Filipina to win the title. The past winners were Gloria Diaz and Margie Moran.

Martine Andraos Becomes the Third Confirmed Delegate to Miss Universe 2010 after Winning Miss Lebanon 2009
Eighteen year-old Martine Indraous (Andraos in some reports) became the third confirmed candidate for the Miss Universe 2010 pageant after she was crowned as Miss Lebanon 2009 in Adma, north of Beirut, last Friday, 26 June 2009.
Miss Universe 2009 pageant has not started yet but three countries have already selected their delegates for the 2010 annual pageant.
Turkey is the first country to select their representative when they crowned Senem Kuyucuoglu as Miss Turkey 2009 in April 29.
The second country to crown its representative is Bolivia when Claudia Arce was proclaimed as Miss Bolivia 2009 in May 21.
The new Lebanese beauty queen will compete first at this year's Miss World pageant to be held in London and Johannesburg, South Africa in December before she will take her chance at the 59th Miss Universe. The venue is not yet known as of this time.
Martine beat 18 other beautiful ladies who participated in the pageant. Her First Runner-Up was the crowd favourite, Marie-Ange Sibaaly. Seline Hassoun was Second Runner-Up.
Miss Lebanon 2008, Rosarita Tawil is Lebanon's representative to the 58th Miss Universe pageant in Bahamas in August 23.

Ife Bethel Sears Resigns as Miss Earth Bahamas 2009

Humor has it that the reason why she relinquished her crown is because she is not happy with her placement from the very start. According to some pageant observers, she really wanted the title of Miss Bahamas or nothing. And, because more and more Bahamians are expressing their disappointments over the selection of Kiara as the over-all winner, Ife saw this opportunity to jump in to the bandwagon. This is her own way of protesting of what she believes as unfair judgment.
Well, as a pageant observer, this act from a beauty queen who did not get the top prize shows lack of sportsmanship. Ife is definitely bitter. In my own standard, this attitude from Ife does not make her a real beauty queen. So, it is just right that she resigned because I personally believe she can't perform the duties of a beauty queen. She is not a role model.
Thus, I am praising her decision of stepping down from her throne. Clap! Clap! Clap!
Bethel-Sears is the daughter of the former Minister of Education and Attorney General of the Bahamas Alfred Sears. This might be one of the factors why she was brave enough to resign. I am just speculating.
There is no development yet on who will replace her.

Miss Singapore "Scandal" - Rachael Kum's Racy Pictures
Rachael Kum, Miss Singapore 2009 and her country's representative to the Miss Universe 2009 pageant to be held in the Bahamas is facing hard time with fans who are not happy on her for winning the crown.
Mostly Singaporean fans, as I have seen on different forums and discussions, are really very vocal about their sentiments on the beauty queen. They say that Rachael should not have won because of her questionable integrity.
Well, this is only a statement I have read from the forums and not my own judgment. I believe that comments from other fans can't fully support the claim that Rachael is not a good role model.
But there are some "racy" pictures of Rachael showing her naughty moments that "might" support the sentiments of the fans. These are actually sent to us and when we checked Rachael Kum's blog, these said pictures are actually posted in her pages.
I leave the judgment to our readers - that's you.
The first picture shows Rachael standing beside a penis mascot and she's making gestures as if she's biting the head.
In the second picture, look at the bottom left corner, Rachael is with another woman in a position suggesting homosexuality.
Lastly, the third picture shows Rachael wearing a costume while a "doll" is in front of her as if she is getting an oral sex.
Is Rachael Kum a lesbian? I don't know that. How about you? What can you say?

Sushmita Sen Admits Having Breast Implants
Former Miss Universe winner, Sushmita Sen of India, is now the latest addition to the growing list of beauty queens who subjected parts of their bodies under the knife.
According to the report of India Times, the 1994 Miss Universe was one of the Bollywood personalities who admitted publicly that she had gone for silicon implants to enhance her breasts.
Sen defended herself by saying that "she is proud of what she had done sine it wasn't a crime to enhance one's beauty."
It is not clear whether India's first Miss Universe titleholder had done this enhancement before becoming a Miss Universe or after she won. But a quick comparison of her pre-pageant and post-pageant photos shows that Sushmita seems to have bigger boobs now than 14 years ago when she competed in Manila, Philippines for the crown.

Dethroned Miss Nevada Peeved by Miss California "Double Standard"
There once was a beauty queen who took naughty pictures and, some years later, did not get to keep her crown.
Despite the magnanimity shown to Miss California Carrie Prejean, Katie Rees—Miss Nevada 2007—was out of luck when racy pics of her showed up after she won her title.
And she's none too happy about what she perceives to be a "huge double standard."
"Semi-nude photos are semi-nude photos," she told E! News, comparing the topless lingerie pics of Prejean with her own shots, which featured a 17-year-old Rees baring a breast, flashing her thong, and doing her best Katy Perry impression.
Miss Universe Organization honcho Donald Trump deemed the photos inappropriate and stripped Rees of her Miss Nevada USA title in December 2006.
And this isn't the first time since that Rees has spoken out in opposition to the less harsh treatment doled out to some of her pageant peers.
She called it "unfair" when Miss USA 2006 Tara Conner was allowed to keep her title after the then-underage beauty queen was spotted drinking in various NYC bars and, at one point, kissing one of her gal-pals.
Rees said today that she and Prejean both signed contracts swearing that there were no nude or semi-nude photographs of them in existence.
And they both broke the contract, Rees added, but she is the only one who had to pay so harshly for her mistake. She asked for a chance to reclaim her title, but was denied.
"I don't know why I am the only one who was punished for their behavior," she said. "I was only 19 when those photos were taken of me, and it was me in my personal life, far before I was crowned Miss Nevada. Carrie actually posed for these professional semi-nude photos.
"I think that's worse."
Last week, after the blogosphere was already ablaze with Prejean's anti-gay marriage comments, a racy pic of the Miss USA runner-up was posted on TheDirty.com. Prejean later admitted to having posed for that and other shots when she was only 17, having been convinced "in her naiveté" to do so by the photographer.
Earlier today, Trump ruled that Prejean will remain Miss California.
Rees, who says that she has never actually met Trump, thinks the real-estate tycoon made a mistake by giving her the ax.
"I have been scrutinized in the press and have tried to move on with my life, but it's hard," she told E! "Everywhere you go, people judge you on these photos and already think they know the type of person you are."
But despite everything, she said, Rees is proud of the way she has handled the aftermath of her own pageant debacle.
"At least when those pictures of me came out, I admitted I was wrong and told young women in America how big of a mistake it was and to be careful because everything can affect your future," she said. "That's more than Carrie has done. She has lied about her age when she took the photos, lied about how many there were and hasn't acknowledged that she was wrong by breaking the contract. I don't think that is a good role model and I hope young women recognize that."
