Miss Earth Dominican Republic 2013 is Maria Eugenia Vargas

At the conclusion of Miss Earth Dominican Republic 2013 that was held at the Hotel Barcelo in Santo Domingo last Sunday night, Maria Eugenia Vargas was crowned the winner. She will represent Dominican Republic at Miss Earth 2013 pageant.

Many fans of Miss Earth pageant are vocal lately about their desires to see this third most important pageant in the world taking place in another country aside from its country of origin, the Philippines. They want the pageant to become more popular among non-Filipinos and this can only be done if different countries will host it year after year. The only year it was staged outside the Philippines was in 2010 when it was held in Vietnam. Also in 2007, Vietnam, again, co-hosted it when the preliminary swimsuit competition happened in Nha Thrang.

Natalie Vertiz, Miss Universe Peru 2011, is Joining Miss Earth 2013?

Rumor has it that a former Miss Universe contestant will be carrying the flag of Peru at the 13th edition of the third most popular and important pageant in the world, the Miss Earth 2013 which is expected to take place in Thailand if current negotiations on the venue will materialize.

Natalie Vertiz (shown at the picture in her swimsuit during the preliminary of Miss Universe 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil), a heavy favorite among pageant pundits to win the Miss Universe 2011, is being considered to be Peru's representative to Miss Earth 2013.

As a favorable reply to this, Vertiz was quoted as saying that "there is a big possibility of her joining the said contest and that she is still thinking of it".

This writer is very much excited if this is going to happen since I am a big fan of this Peruvian goddess ( a term we associate with beauty queens who have extremely beautiful faces).
