The owner of the Miss Universe Organization, Donald Trump, is now $5 million richer after a former beauty queen was compelled to pay him and the Miss USA pageant the said amount.

That was the decision of a federal judge although she even thought that the large award will devastate the former beauty queen financially.

The 62nd Miss USA pageant is obviously making an effort to keep the pageant popular so that people will watch it comes coronation night. Why did I say so? First, it is a common knowledge that nowadays beauty pageants are no longer attracting viewership which could transform big profits. Second, Miss USA is being handled by business tycoon, Donald Trump who everybody knows as a publicity whore.These are the two reasons I can think of when I read somewhere that Miss USA 2013 is "introducing something new that will shake up the whole show".

Hmm, now, did that statement from Paula Shugart, the Miss Universe president who is also in charge of Miss USA, pique your interest?

Miss Earth Philippines 2009 and also Miss Earth 2009 1st runner-up, Sandra Inez Seifert is looking gorgeous and hot. With this latest photo (above) of her, the Filipino-German beauty queen has just proven she deserves the Best in Swimsuit award she got at the Miss Earth 2009 preliminary.

She is screaming Miss Universe but sad to say she was rejected by Binibining Pilipinas (BPCI), the body responsible for selecting a Filipina delegate to the Donald Trump-owned Miss Universe pageant. She is a lost of BPCI - really for sure.

Miss South Africa Tatum Keshwar Brings Miss Universe to Miss World

Everybody, let's take a look back at the last Miss Universe pageant that was held in the Bahamas. Let me refresh your memory about the dress for the opening number. But focus your attention on Miss South Africa Tatum Keshwar. Notice that graceful catwalk with the floral white dress? You only see that on Miss Universe 2009.

After failing to get a title at Miss U, Tatum decided to try her luck at Miss World 2009 which is currently taking place in her home country. She is definitely hoping of getting the title this time around - on her second try. Let's check on how she is doing right now.

Oh, nooo! Have you noticed that? Look at that floral white dress. Was that the one she wore at Miss Universe? I guess so!  Then I was wrong that the dress is exclusive only for Miss Universe.

Carolyn Yapp is Appointed Miss Jamaica Universe 2009

When Pulse, the Jamaican organization that holds the Miss Universe franchise gave it up for this year because of the economic crisis, Donald Trump-led Miss Universe Organization requested they wanted a Miss Jamaica at the Miss Universe 2009 in the Bahamas. Then, the search went on.

Pulse Chairman Kingsley Cooper said that this is the last year they will be sending a representative to the pageant but if they can't find a worthy candidate then they're not going to participate.

Luckily, Pulse found the qualities they were looking on Carolyn Yapp who was immediately appointed as Miss Jamaica Universe 2009.

Carolyn is 25 years old and an Interior Designer. She hopes to make the Jamaican proud when she competes at the pageant in August 23rd.

Rachael Finch will be in the Top 15 of Miss Universe 2009

We would love to make our Top 15 prediction for the Miss Universe 2009 but it's too early. We'll do it later but as early as now we are sure Miss Australia Rachael Finch will be one of them.

Why are we so sure? It's because Donald Trump, the owner of the pageant, is really trying so hard to win the Australians. He wanted Miss Universe to be hosted by Australia for the second time.

In fact, he offered the hosting of Miss Universe 2009 to some cities in Australia but he was refused because they weren't interested. Now, he wanted to bring the pageant closer to the Aussies.

Donald is determined to get the Aussies' attention. Read this article from news.com.au. Donald is full of praise for Rachael and Jennifer Hawkins, Miss Universe 2004, is one of his all-time favourite Miss Universe.

Just to add, I remember reading a book authored by Donald Trump that his most favourite Miss Universe is Amelia Vega of Dominican Republic who won the pageant in 2003 in Panama. I forgot the title of that mini-book but I report this when I find it out.

MISS Universe pageant co-owner Donald Trump is full of praise for Australia's Rachael Finch as she tries to follow in the footsteps of one of his all-time favourite winners, Jennifer Hawkins.

The tycoon said he had heard only good things about the current Miss Universe Australia and had been informed the Queenslander was "wonderful".

"I've heard Rachael is beautiful and I hear she's a lovely lady," Trump said.

The glamorous 21-year-old from Townsville will travel to the Bahamas next month in the hope of clinching the crown, won by Hawkins five years ago.

Trump, who also owns the Miss USA competition, said Hawkins was one of his favourites because she was so problem-free, unlike many others.

"Jennifer Hawkins is one of my all-time favourite Miss Universes," Trump said.

"She's phenomenal. She's a great person and just absolutely beautiful.

"She was absolutely great, she was so problem-free."

Trump's pageants have been riddled with controversy recently.

Miss Universe Australia finalist Stephanie Naumoska made international headlines for her skeletal-like frame. "

I think she was too thin, but I hope she's better,'' Trump said.

In the Miss USA competition, the most recent Miss California was dethroned after missed appearances, topless photos and homophobic comments.

But Trump admitted controversy can be positive too.

"Frankly the controversy is a good thing, not a bad thing, because everyone's talking about my pageants," Trump said.

Miss Universe 2009 in Dubai?

We all now know that the 58th edition of Miss Universe 2009 will be taking place in the Bahamas in August. But did you know that before it was decided to be staged in this Caribbean island, the pageant was almost acquired by Dubai, a city in an Arab country - the United Arab Emirates?

As longtime readers know I'm not exactly a fan of Donald Trump or his attached enormous ego. But I have to give him credit for doing the right thing. He moved the Miss Universe Pageant from Dubai, after Dubai said the country would not allow the pageant to go on with Miss Israel in it--something about not wanting pretty women to enter the Arab Muslim world.

On the other hand, Trump had no choice. Many of his business partners are Jews, as are many of the people with whom he socializes on the Manhattan rich people's cocktail circuit. Still, perhaps I'm giving both Trump and New York Jews too much credit. I doubt they'd shun him if he went on with the pageant excluding the Jew (although Miss Israel has been a Muslim Arab before, such as Rana Raslan). They really don't care a whit about anti-Semitism or anti-Israel sentiment. Look who most of 'em voted for in the Presidential election.

Plus Trump shouldn't have considered Dubai in the first place. It's no secret the nation boycotts Israel, etc. That's not to mention Trump's good friend, Russell Simmons, who employs an anti-Semitic Muslim--Benjamin Chavis Muhammad--as head of his Hip Hop Summit Action Network. So, it's not like anti-Semitism really bothers Trump all too much.

Trump isn't exactly bothered by Dubai anyway. He was supposed to build a Trump International Hotel and Tower, there, which is now "delayed." And the cancellation of Miss Universe there might have more to do with that, then any moral stand against anti-Semitism in Dubai and the other United Arab Emirates.

Regardless, though, Dubai's anti-Israel policy has been publicly dissed by no less than Trump, and that's a good thing.

Shanna Moakler quits Miss USA over Miss California controversy

A day after Donald Trump allowed Miss California Carrie Prejean to keep her crown following controversy over her opposition to gay marriage and semi-nude photo scandal, former beauty queen Shanna Moakler has resigned from her spot with the Miss USA California organization.

Moakler, the reality star and ex-wife of drummer Travis Barker, is a proponent of gay rights.

Following Trump's decision, Moakler said she could no longer associate with the pageant because of Prejean''s comments and Trump''s decision, Usmagazine. com reported.

"I feel that at this time it is in my best interest to resign from the Miss California USA organization," The New York Daily News quoted her, as telling Us.

"I cannot with a clear conscience move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it," she added.

At a news conference, Trump defended Prejean for her position that marriage was between a man and a woman.

She gave her answer during the April 19 Miss USA Pageant, owned by Trump.

Prejean, 22, has charged that the semi-nude photos were leaked by people angry over her opposition to gay marriage.

Donald Trump Rules: Carrie Prejean Will Keep Her Crown Despite Racy Pics Controversy

Beauty queens are in the eye of the beholder. And for Donald Trump, Carrie Prejean will always be a beauty queen.

Trump, the owner of the Miss Universe Organization and thus decider of Miss California's fate, resolved today to let the scandal-scarred and contract-violating titleholder keep her crown, over yesterday's urgings of Golden State pageant officials.

"Carrie will remain Miss California," the Donald announced at a press conference this morning, adding that "we are in the 21st century."

"We've really studied these photos," he said. "We've made a determination that everything we've seen to date that she's done—some were very beautiful, some were risqué—the pictures taken were acceptable, were fine, and in some cases were lovely pictures."

The aesthetic argument is one Trump returned to several times over the course of explaining his decision.

"If Carrie weren't so beautiful, this never would have come up," he said. "Carrie is totally beautiful. And her answer, because of that, took on more importance. Unfortunately, that's the way the press works. You should be ashamed of yourselves."

As for Prejean, she took time out to give thanks to her own holy trinity: Trump and Miss California officials, her fans, and—no acceptance speech is complete without him—God.

"I would like to thank the thousands of Americans who have sent letters, sent emails, messages...I cannot count the number of fan mail I have received in the past three weeks of people expressing their support to me," she said, choking back tears. "They have confided in me that they have found hope and inspiration in my story.

"Most importantly, I would like to thank God for trusting me with this large task and giving me the strength to stand by my beliefs."

And while she dismissed the recent spate of leaked topless photos as one-off poses, Photoshopped snaps and otherwise unknowing outtakes from a surf magazine shoot, she did spend some time explaining the other alleged violation of her Miss California contract—lobbying against same-sex marriages.

"Being at the center of a media firestorm is not something I had planned or signed up for," she said. "Let me be clear, I am not an activist, nor do I have a personal agenda.

"I was thrown into this firestorm from the time I was asked the question on stage…The president of the United States, the secretary of state, and many Americans agree with me," she said.

And while she went on to admit that she has "become an advocate of not redefining marriage," she will continue to do so without ties to any particular organization.

"I am not working for the National Organization for Marriage. I spent about an hour with them," she said.

"I am not going to be speaking out against same-sex marriage. I'm going to resume my duties as Miss California, but also stay true to my personal beliefs. We will see how we will balance the two.

"I want to reaffirm my commitment to Miss California USA."

Part of how Prejean will now do that is by incorporating her hard-learned lessons in "civility, respect and tolerance" into her state duties.

"Not everyone may like me or agree with me, but I hope at the end of the day, everyone will respect my rights as I respect theirs."

"It has been a long journey for me, as you all know, but through all this I stand before you today a stronger woman than I was yesterday and I am proud of that."

She also stands today as a beauty queen who once again has the support of the Miss California organization behind her.

While pageant codirectors Shanna Moakler and Keith Lewis yesterday all but replaced Prejean in her duties as Miss California, they appeared alongside her at today's press conference forming a united front.

"I think Carrie's excited to get back to being Miss California USA and we're excited to have her," Lewis said.

"They were having some miscommunication with Carrie, and I use the term 'miscommunication' somewhat loosely," Trump said. "The communication problem, I believe, is totally solved.

"They are really getting along very well. They've been meeting for hours in my office and I really think that they developed a relationship they didn't have before."

Just yesterday, Miss California pageant officials crowned a replacement-in-waiting, Miss California runner-up Tami Farrell, whom they also announced as the ambassador for the new Beauty of California initiative.

Lewis and Moakler also let slip that they had strongly recommended that Trump give Prejean the old heave-ho from her pageant post, mostly due to her failure to disclose her racy shots.

For her part, Prejean shrugged off the scandal, saying the most recent spate of photos were taken by a professional photographer between shots on a windy day, and blamed unexpected gusts—and an ethically-challenged cameraman—on her unwitting exposure.

Trump has a history of being forgiving of misbehaving beauty queens. Back in 2006, he gave Miss USA Tara Conner a second chance after she admitted to drinking, drug use and other behavior unbecoming a pageant winner, and sent her to rehab.

"In a way this is a bigger issue," he said. "Tara had serious alcohol and drug problems, and I'm very proud of her. We gave her a second chance...She's doing fantastic.

"That was a personal problem that she had, this is a very big issue. This is an issue that probably will be debated for a long time."

Though it's a debate that, for once, won't be started by Trump himself.

After opening the press conference up to questions from the press, the mogul was inevitably asked what his response would have been on the now infamous pageant question.

"It's not up to me," he said, expertly sidestepping the query. "It's a very, very, big issue and it's an issue that has two sides and I understand both sides very well."

And as for the question's equally infamous asker?

"I'd love to have him back," Trump said. "Look, I know Perez Hilton. He's doing his thing, I'm doing my thing, we're all doing our things."

As it stands, Prejean will be doing her thing as Miss California until November, when the next state winner will be crowned.

Donald Trump has broken his silence.

The owner of the Miss Universe franchise finally addressed the scandal surrounding his Miss USA pageant to FOX News Thursday, saying that he has received thousands of calls and letters, the majority of which support Miss California's comments on gay marriage.

Trump had been mum during the firestorm that followed the Sunday telecast, when first runner up Carrie Prejean's responded to a question about the controversial issue of gay marriage.

When asked by judge Perez Hilton, an openly gay gossip blogger, whether she believed in gay marriage, Prejean said "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Many have argued that the answer cost Prejean the crown. But Trump disagreed, congratulating Dalton and saying that she deserved to win.

"I am very honored that she won," Trump told FOX News. "She really did a fantastic job ... She was doing well on every single card and she really did answer also a very, very tough question very well."

But Trump defended Prejean as well, disagreeing with Perez Hilton's assertion that it was the worst answer in the history of the Miss USA pageant.

"Miss California has done a wonderful job, that was her belief ... It wasn't a bad answer, that was simply her belief."

Trump added that Prejean's question was "a bit unlucky," arguing that no matter how she answered the question "she was going to get killed."

Prejean told FOX News that she believes her question cost her the crown. Dalton, the winner, told FOX News that she was not bothered by all the attention garnered by the first runner up because she feels it brings attention to the Miss USA organization, but that she was confident in her win.

"I think if they watch the pageant and they see the scores throughout the competition, they'll see who was in the lead throughout the competition," Dalton said. "There was a panel of 12 judges, it was collective judging, it wasn't just one judge that made her not win."

She also argued that she did not feel it was an unfair question, as it is an issue that concerns all Americans, and she has been asked the question about "five times in her career."

Dalton's title comes with a year's use of a New York apartment, a public relations team, a two-year scholarship at the New York Film Academy and an undisclosed salary.

Donald Trump offers Croatia to host Miss Universe 2009

The businessman Donald Trump proposed to Croatia's officials for their country to host Miss Universe beauty pageant, in return for the possibility of his investments in hotels and golf fields on the island of Brioni.

In the offer, Trump requested from Croatia to participate in funding of the event, whose total value is estimated at 1.5 billion dollars.

However, it was reported that Croatia rejected the offer, explaining that an investment of several million dollars amid the global economic crisis would not be a wise idea.
